It looks like many people are making mistakes regarding the businesses they are getting involved with and what it takes to successfully market them.

There are countless business opportunities out there and people are pouring into them like crazy. Some of these opportunities are with companies that have been around for quite a while and are solid, proven winners. If you are one of those people that picked a first-class business opportunity I am happy for you.

But to my disappointment, there are many companies out there that are pretty unstable deals. They pledge you instant treasures - all you have to do is sign on for them, pay your monthly fees, and then you can relax and rake in the cash. Incorrect, this is not how it works.

The fact is, there is a giant crash rate among people trying to start a thriving home based internet or network marketing company. Close to 95% of the folks that join these online business, whether they are time-honored companies or one of the shady instant get rich schemes, will fail at making enough money to stay in business.

Assuming you picked a reliable business opportunity there is one key fact to consider if you want to be among the doing well.

You have to understand the marketing it takes to make your business successful. If you don’t know how to market you will most likely fail.

And, you need to understand the most significant piece about marketing and that is the creation of leads.

You must have leads so that you can transform those leads into sales and/or recruit them into your business. The depressing part is that most network and Internet marketers break down in the most imperative part of their marketing - lead generation. And the plain reason is usually because they do not know how to market correctly. But you can without problems change that and get the knowledge you require.

To help you acquire a better understanding of the many pieces involved in lead generation, I am going to arrange everything out for you in a relationship drawing or marketing map. The most vital piece of the map is at the middle - the landing page. The lead capture page is essential to your marketing and once you understand how to do all the diverse types of marketing they all point back to one factor – and that is your lead capture page.

No matter what kind of marketing you are doing, whether it’s SEO, MySpace, Digg, Blogs, etc., all of that traffic needs to be targeted to get to your lead capture pages.

To reiterate, all of your marketing needs to send all of your traffic to your lead capture page.

Basically, the objective is for you to set out marketing using any or a combination of traffic generation - lead generation techniques. Then your marketing hard work will direct people to your lead capture page and then you can change that lead into a buying client and/or a prospect to go in with your company.

If all you’re doing is promoting your business, and not capturing leads, you are doing your self a wrong. You must obtain the leads and build interaction with the people whose names you capture.

Now when you learn how to market properly, you will gain knowledge of how to perfect these different marketing strategies. You do NOT need to perfect them all so don’t get frightened by how many types of traffic marketing there are. Some very profitable internet marketers only use 1 or 2 of these tactics, but they concentrate on them, get proficient at them, and they take action with them.

You can use things like MySpace and Facebook to pull traffic to your landing page. You can utilize blogs and forums to establish yourself as an authority and get traffic to your landing page that way. You can also run ads on other people’s forums or use Pay Per Click advertising to get traffic to your leads capture page. Pick one to begin.

Your lead capture page becomes the entrance point into your marketing retention and follow up practice, because the traffic that you capture there goes into your Autoresponder.

All the contacts go into YOUR autoresponder. This is because you need to build a list of your own clients and prospects. This is a crucial point, because in the preponderance of internet business out there, all of your hard work go to building a customer list for the company, NOT you!

You need to be doing this no matter what business you are in, whether it’s Acai Berry, Empowerism, Avon, etc. You need to get the traffic to your lead capture so that you can acquire the lead.

The autoresponder becomes your email director, your marketing follow-up system and your client retention system.

By running an autoresponder you can stay in touch with your potential recruits and over time they will be encouraged to either purchase products from you, enter your business (if you are network marketing) or become resellers (if you are in affiliate marketing).

Use the email messages you transmit via your autoresponder list to help your contacts. After all, they wouldn’t have registered for your list if they didn’t think you had something to provide them. So don’t dishearten them. Give them gratis things, give them instruction, teach them, and ultimately sell them on your products or company. Give away them marketing training and show them how they can be flourishing with the goods you are selling or if they join your business. Under promise and Over deliver!

You can in fact earn an income from this. We’ve set ourselves up with services and products so that we can bring in cash even if people don’t enter our business. This is because we have built a database of names that we are creating relationships with.

So remember, no traffic - no leads, and with no leads you can’t keep your business running.

If you are already managing a business, you need to organize a training program so that you can put forward even more to your list of individuals. If you have yet to connect with a business you need to find a company that gives you with the right kind of marketing instruction. A superior training program should show people how to set up their landing pages and autoresponder and teach them on which types of traffic promotion will work best for them.

Keep in mind, you don’t have to use all the different types of marketing to acquire traffic. You can use the various tactics independently. The key thing is to use at least one of them, get capable at it and stick with it.

So don’t waste any more time. Start doing things the right way and get the marketing training you need.
