As an at home business it is easy to lose your focus and waste time. If you don’t have focus it is almost impossible to make money.

There are a lot of tools available on the Internet to have a successful online business and make a lot of money from home. With the videos, ebooks, newsletters, and discussion forums, you can become educated in how to market your business.

Too many new business owners try to have a comprehensive understanding of each aspect of the marketing industry and get bogged down. This then leads to inactivity, you sit in front of the computer and read and reread every piece of information that comes into your inbox.

Get the fundamentals and start to promote your business. Spend the majority of your time advertising and marketing your business and generating traffic. The more different forms of traffic you have coming to your website the more sales you will eventually make.

An additional approach is to focus on promoting a landing page and building your email marketing list before passing your prospects through to your website. This does make sense because a list can be an income stream for you in the future by allowing you to follow up with people who subscribe to your list.

However, even using this strategy means that you focus on generating traffic to your landing page. Again the most successful home business owners are those who get a lot of targeted traffic.

As you increase your knowledge and understanding, you can begin to focus on separate areas of marketing. But it still comes down to getting people to your website and if you are sitting and reading you are not promoting. If you are not promoting you are not making money. If you are not making money, you are frustrated. If you are frustrated you are going to quit.

Save yourself from guitting your home business, focus on getting people to your site. As you get confidence and in time you can start to employ different Internet marketing skills, but for now just get yourself out there.
