Real Time Stats With Google Analytics
Here’s a nice thing I found out this week: I was checking my site stats on Google Analytics and I found an easy way to see the real time stats of my blog! I looked around on the web but could not find anyone talking about this, so I decided to write this post. It’s actually very very easy, it seems that the stats are there but they are not automatically selected for display by Google Analytics. This is what you need to do:
- Log in to Google Analytics and go to your dashboard
- Click on the date Combobox as seen in the picture:
3. Once you clicked it you see the following notice that the 11th of March is not selected ( this post was written on the 11th of march ).
4. Click on the 11 and then “Apply” and there you go, today’s stats for your blog updated in real time. The graph will not reflect this, but the numbers below are today’s stats.
Enjoy

I compared it with the FeedBurner stats at they look quite coordinated. I have no idea what are the intervals but I think i figured how to check it.
let you know soon.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t real-time. In my experience the stats are delayed by a couple of hours.

Wow. that was easy
Thanks = )

Thanks this is helpful. It’s tough to beat free Google Analytics, not having near real time stats was one little thing that was a little annoying. Not having an up-to-date chart is fine so long as the page counts are being updated.

I can’t believe that I didn’t see that, I am using my small wedding website to test GA out before I start offering it to clients, and waiting until about 4 am EST to see what changed was kind of annoying. Thank you SO MUCH!

Glad I could help
It’s not “Real” time stats but it is close enough.
Acctually if you want real time you should try getting addmitted to the beta version of woopra

I agree, this was too simple to do. Why didn’t I just figure it out! haha. seems to be about 3 or so hour delay, but that is ok with me. If I want Real Time I check the stats on the wordpress blog.

Yes, this is awesome. I have been looking every where to find out of there’s a way to get Google Analytics updating more quickly… I don’t need it to be real-time, just more than once a day!
Great find

GA is definitely NOT real-time. It’s been my experience as well, there is a delay of up to 3 hours. Check your stats right at midnight, then again in the morning. You will see the difference.

This must not work anymore as the button is not there. Maybe it’s just my interface though. I was pretty excited until I tried to do this and - no button
