Yahoo Buzz, Is it the New Digg?
Yahoo has just upgraded the Yahoo Buzz service which showed until recently the most wanted content in Yahoo’s web sites. the new service is very similar to Digg where the surfers suggest their though of interesting articles and others vote for them or against them and push those articles up or down the page according to the amount of votes.
Unlike Digg, the new Yahoo Buzz does not count only on the votes of the surfers to determine whether an article is popular or not but bases the popularity of an article on a new rating called Buzz which consists of search engine data from Yahoo Search, the amount of times it was sent by mail and more
At this point most of the stories that are in the site are from Yahoo’s sites and very few of them are from external web sites such as WordPress.com or CNN. you can vote for articles by clicking the yahoo buzz link at the bottom.
A funny thing is that you can not vote for articles in the Yahoo Buzz itself only against them. All the articles that have the highest Buzz
Rate will be shown at the main page of the Yahoo Buzz web site, some of them might even go as far as to be shown on Yahoo’s home page.
Yahoo has announced it’s intention to widen the content shown in the Yahoo Buzz web site with the help of a system that will allow other web sites to join the service. Advertisers will be able to get to a very specific part of the users according to the different categories.Amit
