Hi all.
This weekend Nvidia has released the fist 9000 series GeForce, it is the GeForce 9600GT which is designated to take the place of the 8600GT/GTS and compete with ATI’s Radeon HD3850/3870. Technologically speaking the new 9600GT has nothing new under the hood.
The main thing that the GeForce 9600GT has to offer is an improved support for HD Video and a lowered power demand. The GeForce 9600GT in not any better than the stronger 8000 series cards. He includes 64 Stream Processors, 512MB of RAM, DirectX 10 support and ofcourse SLI compatibility.
The biggest news this Accelerator has to offer is the Cost/Performance ratio Nvidia declares an average 90% improvement over the 8000 series which were verified on Ars Technica. and AnandTech. ![]()
The GeForce 9600GT Outperformed the Radeon HD3870 on several PC Games and while on several other PC Games The Radeon was the better performer, But the GeForce is Cheaper.

The bottom line is that the GeForce 9600GT is definitely the most attractive midrange accelerator, although the choice will be hard. according to AnandTech the GeForce performs better on Quake Wars and Call of Duty 4 while the Radeon wins in Halflife 2, Crysis and Oblivion. The Heavy Gamers will most likely still go for the high end 8800GTS card
